If you attend a school associated with Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) or the Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (FACCS), then you’re likely already planning for conventions next spring. Regional competitions start in March, and events like drama performances require months of preparation, which is why I’m now running a sale on all my skits for ACE and FACCS conventions!
You know what my favorite part of being a playwright is? It’s actually when the script is out of my hands and in the care of a drama team. Especially a team of teenagers, who bring the story to life with care and energy and conviction.
A big thank you to The Old Schoolhouse Magazine, and particularly to reviewer Susan Reed! Susan is a homeschooling mom and co-op leader who used our scripts Narrow Escape and Really Remarkable Romance with her daughters and students, and she reviewed us for The Old Schoolhouse’s database of resources for homeschoolers. She writes, “My family used […]
We are super excited about our new release today: a 10-minute version of our drama Narrow Escape! Narrow Escape has always been one of our favorite plays, with its classic, vivid allegory of bondage and freedom told through a group of prisoners and a mysterious Guide. So when a shortened version of this drama was requested, we […]

As an expression of our thanks, we’re offering a 30% discount on our anytime-of-year plays, Narrow Escape and Rejected: The Inside Story. […]
Here’s the third installment in our “Ask the Actors” video series! (If you missed them, you can find the first two videos here — Ask the Actors: Intro and Ask the Actors: Rejected.) This third video clip features three young actors who performed in a production of our drama Narrow Escape. The clip is short, but […]
I’d like you to meet Skyler. She’s over in the corner, whimpering as obtrusively as possible. More like wailing, actually. Her clothes are dirty, her hair’s a tangled mess, and her wrists are chained, just like all the other prisoners in the room. Skyler is a character from my play Narrow Escape. Like her fellow […]
Fifteen-year-old Ana Owens performed in a production of my play Narrow Escape last summer. She played the role of Kendall, a rather ditzy, oblivious prisoner who refuses to follow the Guide to freedom unless she can take with her the chain that binds her. Ana enjoyed her experience with the drama, and she was kind […]
Nineteen-year-old Cristian Washburn performed in a production of my play Narrow Escape last summer. He played the role of Chris, one of the few prisoners in the story who trusts and follows the Guide to freedom. (Check out the picture at the end of this post to see Cristian in costume and in character.) Cristian […]
We are so excited! Narrow Escape is finally printed and ready for purchase. This allegorical drama portrays the willfulness of human nature and man’s reluctance to surrender the chains that bind him, yet it also demonstrates the good news that anyone can find freedom in following Christ Jesus. Unlike our Christmas dramas, Narrow Escape (as […]
