Narrow Escape

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. (John 8:36)

Three prisoners face a life-changing choice when a stranger appears among them, claiming he can guide them to freedom. Mixed motivations emerge as each prisoner must decide whether to trust the guide and follow him across the minefield that surrounds the prison. Exploring both human and divine nature, the allegory of Narrow Escape represents the many chains from which Christ longs to free us.

With two scenes and a cast of 5 characters (1 male, 4 gender-neutral), this skit runs about 10 minutes in performance. It is an abridged version of our longer play also entitled Narrow Escape, and this shorter script meets One-Act Play guidelines for Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) conventions and Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (FACCS) competitions. (At the 2019 ACE International Student Convention, Narrow Escape, performed by Heartland Christian School, won 4th place among One-Act Plays!)
