Those of you who follow our Instagram already know why I was AWOL for the last two weeks. For those who don’t know, here is the rather prosaic reason: I was on summer vacation. Bland, but true. And though I apologize for my absence, I imagine I wasn’t missed too terribly while I was gone. If you’ve been curled up in fetal position waiting in agony for the return of the blog, I am sincerely sorry (and I don’t believe you).
Now that I’m home again and back to work, I thought I’d share a little bit about the rather special vacation my family and I took this year. For about a week, we visited my sister in Oxford (which is where our vacations usually take us these days!), but we also crossed something off our bucket list that we’ve wanted to do for a very long time.
We visited Greece!
We only spent four days in Greece, but we crammed in as many sites as we possibly could in that time! With my sister studying ancient Greek at Oxford and myself having been a Classics major in undergrad, we both were delighted to finally get to visit ancient temples, theaters, and especially New Testament sites. In our four days we traveled to Corinth, Epidaurus, Delphi, Hydra, and of course Athens.
