He came unto his own, and his own received him not. (John 1:11)
Rejected: The Inside Story follows aspiring mystery writer Nicole Pearson when she finds herself plunged inside her own novel. In her encounters with the bumbling, self-assured characters of her story, she begins to learn what it means to be doubted — and even rejected — by her own creation.
Set in 1958, Rejected features the incompetent Detective Breckenridge and his adroit assistant, Georgia Harrison, who are strangely interrupted in an investigation of theft and treason by the appearance of a disregarded maid named Nicole. While they interrogate suspects and examine clues, this prying maid begins to reveal a thorough knowledge of the case that perplexes Breckenridge and his assistant. Who is this Miss Pearson anyway? And why on earth does she call herself their author?
